Difference between Ware House and store
A store or warehouse, is a building or room where materials ( Usually called inventory) are kept. Store keeping involves the proper receipt, safe custody, preservation and issue of the materials to various users or customers and also the physical and financial accounting of the stocks kept in the store. The two words "Store" and "Warehouse" are used synonymously in India while in the west the word "Warehouse" is preferred and the word "Storehouse" is used rather than "Store"
Ware house:
1. Larger area than stores - even some stores may found larger
but it depends on type of items.
2.Independent facility, mainly a hanger or building separated
from being part of full-service roles, because warehouse do not work in
services of retail or single requests, warehouse works on bulk quantities of
distribution, it may have distribution channel too.
3.Distribution by bulk, not by retail, not serving single
requests.
4. Large amount of quantity of materials whatever the type is.
5. Stock replenishment comes by planning of purchasing or stock
planners for periodical goals.
6.Keeps the returned non-moving items and returned valued scarps
for future solutions.
7. Can be supported with some re-staging areas, fixing workshops,
assembly areas, weigh bridge stations.
Store:
1. Smaller than warehouse.
2.Part of complete business process cycle facility works to
complete service of reselling or delivery services.
3.Reselling or delivering by single requests for retailers or
requester.
4.Less amount of quantities, mainly store makes replenishment
orders to warehouse if available.
5.Stock replenishment tentative continued on daily or short
periods rates. to avoid running out of stock.
6. Doesn't keep non-moving items or valued scraps. sending them
mainly to ware house if available or taking direct solution to avoid getting
them stored with no meaning.
